Art fans are being given the chance to spend a night at the world’s most popular museum alongside its stunning masterpieces.

Airbnb has teamed up with the Louvre to let one lucky competition winner and a guest see what happens inside the building once the lights go out.

They will sleep in the famous glass pyramid, which has been transformed into a bedroom, drink cocktails in front of the Mona Lisa and have dinner in the company of the Venus de Milo.

Aibnb is offering two lucky art fans the chance to spend the night at the Louvre in Paris after all the other visitors have left. One of the experiences they will be treated to is having cocktails in front of the Mona Lisa

The two guests will also have an extravagant feast in a pop-up dining room located right next to the Venus de Milo statue

It is the first time that anyone has been allowed to sleep in the Paris museum overnight and it is being described as a ‘one night only’ event.

The experience also includes being greeted by an art historian, who will take the two guests on a bespoke tour, like those previously given to Barack Obama, Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

They will then toast the Mona Lisa with a cosy Renaissance-inspired aperitif, while relaxing on a sumptuous Parisian lounge sofa and listening to the atmospheric sounds of French music on vinyl records.

Venus de Milo, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, will then ‘host’ an extravagant feast in a pop-up dining room.
