If you want to soak up some views while you’re taking a swim, then you might want to check into one of these sky-high hotels.

MailOnline Travel has scoured the world for the highest places to take a dip.

Among the selection is a pool on the 42nd floor of the Parker Meridian in New York boasting sweeping views of Central Park and an equally impressive bathing spot on the 52nd floor of the Shangri-La in London. 

In Tokyo, the luxury Aman hotel has a swimming pool more than 30 stories high and the Marina Bay Sands hotel  in Singapore is known the world over for its cloud-grazing infinity pool perched 650 feet up. 

For those with a real fear of heights, the pool at the Holiday Inn in Shanghai might be one to avoid as it has a glass-bottomed cantilevered pool, allowing swimmers to look down to the street below.

The Shangri-La London, located in the Shard, boasts a stunning infinity pool on the 52nd floor, with large windows. The hotel’s 36-foot-long heated Skypool is open exclusively to guests from 6am to 8pm. It faces west across the city to provide views of St Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye and Westminster

Perched on the top six floors of the 38-storey  Otemachi Tower is the Aman Tokyo. The luxury hotel houses a spa  featuring large Japanese-style hot baths and steam rooms, plus a light-filled  pool with panoramic city views. The spa is open from 10am to 10pm

It stays open until 10:30pm during the week, so swimmers can watch the twinkling Manhattan skyline come alive. There is also an outdoor sundeck for tanning and a menu offering drinks and snacks such as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The pool is free to use for hotel guests and memberships can be purchased for non-guests
